Terms

Terms of service

Effective 5 October 2026. These terms cover the edxCloud control plane. They do not make edxCloud the host of your learners.

The service is in Beta. Creating an account and a campus does not require a platform subscription. The prices below apply when Beta ends. Infrastructure in your cloud account is billed by that provider throughout.

The service

edxCloud deploys and operates Open edX, through Tutor, inside a cloud account you connect. You choose the plan, the region, and the hostnames. The Droplet, managed databases, volume, and bandwidth are resources in your account, billed by that cloud provider to you.

Your account

You are responsible for the people you invite, the roles you give them, and the cloud token you connect. Keep the token scoped to what the console needs, and revoke it when you disconnect.

Your campus

Learner records, course content, and uploaded files stay in your cloud account. You are responsible for the content published there, for the learners you enrol, and for the Open edX configuration you ask the console to apply. Stopping the edxCloud subscription does not delete those resources.

Plans and fees

The platform fee is the price shown on the Billing page: Starter at $49 a month, Campus at $149 a month, or the annual price at 20% off, billed once a year. Enterprise is agreed separately. The fee is collected by Creem, the merchant of record. Taxes Creem is required to collect are added at checkout. Cloud infrastructure is a separate bill from your cloud provider and is not part of this fee.

Starter includes 1 application and 2 environments. Campus includes 3 applications and 6 environments. A plan that is not active cannot create a new application or environment. A campus that is already running stays online.

Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel from the Billing page, which opens the Creem customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. Until that date the plan stays active. A charge for the current period is not refunded, except where the law requires a refund. A yearly plan is the yearly charge, not twelve separate months.

Acceptable use

Do not use the console to attack another system, to store credentials you are not allowed to use, or to break the cloud provider's own terms. We may suspend a workspace that does.

Availability

The control plane is operated with care. A deployment can still fail, a cloud provider can be down, and an Open edX release can need a fix. The status of a deployment is shown in the console. These terms do not promise a particular uptime for the campus, because the campus runs in your cloud account.
